    Prenatal Support Groups
    Virtual support group for expectant mothers both high-risk and normal, healthy pregnancies welcome: This group will help prepare you for the transition into motherhood. We will cover topics related to mental health and wellness, changes in relationships, feeding choices, sleep hygiene, self-care, and establishing a support system.

    Postpartum Support Groups
    The Hoag postpartum virtual support group is designed for moms to connect and gain support in postpartum. This group will cover topics such as the unexpected feelings and mental health concerns that can arise following birth. Whether you are a first-time mom, or mom of 5 this group will provide support and resources to help you on your maternal wellness journey.

    Maternity Orientation
    This educational program is designed to help you and your partner prepare for labor and the birth of your baby through an interactive approach. You will learn skills and strategies to help make your childbirth experience a positive one; understanding the labor process; when to come to the hospital; breathing, relaxation, and other therapies for pain; timing contractions; labor and pushing positions for both medicated and unmedicated births and what to expect after your baby is born.


    Maternity Tour
    This tour will be held in-person and is limited to 2 people for each party. Tour is facilitated by Hoag’s OB Education Registered Nurses. During this tour you will learn more about our facility, available resources before and after birth and expectations for your hospital experience.


    Prepared Childbirth

    This educational program is designed to help you and your partner prepare for labor and the birth of your baby through an interactive approach. You will learn skills and strategies to help make your childbirth experience a positive one; understanding the labor process; when to come to the hospital; breathing, relaxation, and other therapies for pain; timing contractions; labor and pushing positions for both medicated and unmedicated births and what to expect after your baby is born.
    Class includes a hospital tour.


    4th Trimester Class
    The fourth trimester class is an interactive couple’s workshop that addresses the changes that couples encounter after bringing their babies home. Couples learn research-based strategies to improve communication and relationship satisfaction. This class will help couples prepare for the postpartum period and learn how to support baby’s healthy development.


    Breastfeeding Class
    Developed and taught by Hoag’s OB Education Registered Nurses, this in-person class teaches expectant mothers and their partners the basic skills for successful breastfeeding. Topics include newborn breastfeeding expectations, benefits for mother and baby, positioning and latch, boosting mother’s comfort and confidence, how to know your baby is getting enough and basic pumping and resources.


    Baby Safety
    Developed and taught by Hoag’s OB Education Registered Nurses, this class teaches expectant families basic CPR guidelines from the American Heart Association for the layperson. Topics include infant and child CPR with hands-on skill practice, infant and child choking, car seat regulations and safety, maintaining a safe home, safe sleep, and other safety measures to consider when bringing a baby home. **This is not a certification class**


    Baby Care Basics
    Developed and taught by Hoag’s OB Education Registered Nurses, this class is designed to increase knowledge and build confidence in caring for your baby. Baby care topics will include newborn appearance and behaviors, when to call the doctor, safe sleep and much more. Demonstrations of hands-on care will be included. Expectant mother and one support person may attend, per registration. This class is designed as an adult only class and Ideally, should be taken in your third trimester.
