Colorectal Exam

At Orange Coast Women’s Medical Group, we recommend colorectal cancer screening to our patients between the ages of 40 and 50 years of age. This exam is preformed during your annual pelvic exam and does not need any special preparation or dietary restriction. During this exam we will check for polyps, tumors and/or other abnormalities

Colorectal cancer can start without any symptoms so screening may be the first clue for you and your doctor that additional testing is needed.

In other words, screening is the single most important health opportunity you have to take care of yourself and your family.

Each year in the United States alone, more than 70,000 women are diagnosed with colorectal cancer, and more than 24,000 women die of the disease. It is the third leading cause of cancer death in women, after lung cancer and breast cancer.

Screening saves lives!
